about

I'm the BART Storyteller. I create engaging content that tells the story of BART, our employees, history, technological innovations, and our riders. Over the past two years, I have published more than 100 stories about the BART system. The stories are shared with tens of thousands of people via social media, newsletters, and more.

As a member of the BART Communications team, I have also developed a series of rider engagement, communications, and marketing initiatives, including the rider storytelling series BART Connects (bart.gov/bartconnects), BART’s writing contests (bart.gov/bartlines), One Book One BART (bart.gov/bookclub), and the 2023 and 2024 Transit Saves ad campaigns (bart.gov/transitsaves).

I also support the Communications Department with project management, social media, video direction and production, media relations, website management, event production and execution, internal communications and frequently work across the BART District to support departments with their strategic messaging and communications needs.

Prior to BART, I worked as a journalist for national and local news organizations. Among other accolades, in 2022 (right before I started at BART!), I won First Place at the 45th Annual San Francisco Press Club Awards in the "Newspapers - Blog/Commentary" category. My essay, “Recovery Season,” originally published in Orion, was listed as a notable mention in The Best American Science and Nature Writing.

My debut poetry collection, Hate Mail: Thank You for Reading, was published by Vine Leaves Press in 2022. I received my master's degree in English literature from UC Irvine in 2020. I am a member of The Writers Grotto in San Francisco.
